As personal trainers we are able to effectively help you tackle your training and nutrition issues, as well as helping you develop a strong and positive mind set to help you reach your goals. We are able to offer a truly individual approach to health and fitness whilst taking into account everything you have previously done and are currently doing – including working around injuries.
However, there may be times when you may need a specialist approach to help solve your issue. As personal trainers, we need to ensure that we stay within our practices but also ensure you get the correct and best possible advice.
For example if you to come to us with a medical condition, we would first need you to be cleared by your doctor to train. Once you are cleared by the doctor, we can then consult alongside your doctor to understand any possible effects from the condition, as well as any effects we need to monitor from things such as your medicine.
Sometimes however we may need to refer you onto a specialist, for example in the event that it may unsafe to train, or you may need a specialist environment where you can be monitored more closely – this ensures you are still able to train effectively whilst taking your healthcare needs into consideration. Our aim is to ensure we provide the best possible service to you so that you can ultimately reach your goals.
If you are injured, we may refer you to a physiotherapist and work alongside them to produce an effective action plan once you are ready and able to return to the gym. This may be something as simple as a list of exercises to help strengthen the affected area, or it may require a more comprehensive plan.
We have had clients come to us with previous injuries who have worked extensively alongside us and their physiotherapist so that they were able to get the best results possible whilst managing their injury and helping them to slowly strengthen that area.
